What The Stars Mean

To honor and recognize our corporate supporters, we've created a simple, meaningful Stars System. Each star represents a $1,000 contribution toward giving second chances.

Star Levels:

1 Star– Hope Giver

$1,000 donation. Supports the full rehabilitation of 1–2 individuals.

2 Stars – Change Partner

$2,000 donation. Helps rehabilitate and reintegrate up to 4 lives.

3 Stars – Impact Leader

$3,000 donation. Boosts our outreach, expands support to more focus areas.

4–7 Stars – Legacy Builder

Higher tiers reflect deeper commitment and greater impact.

(Example: 4 Stars – Beacon of Hope, 5 Stars – Visionary Ally, etc.)

Why Stars?

Stars are symbols of light, guidance, and hope—just like the companies who stand with us. Every star counts. Every dollar changes a life.

It’s a corporate social responsibility campaign by Giving Second Chances Foundation that invites companies to donate $1,000 (or more) to support the rehabilitation, release, and reintegration of unjustly imprisoned individuals in Nigeria.

How is my $1,000 used?

Funds are used for:

- Payment of minor fines and legal support

- Skills training and startup tools

- Temporary shelter, mental health support, and reintegration programs

A detailed breakdown (in percentage) is shared via an infographic and in our donor toolkit.

How do I know this isn’t a scam?

We understand the concerns, especially coming from Nigeria. Here’s how we ensure transparency:

- Publicly listed impact reports

- Verified testimonials

- Audit-ready financial records

- A “Hall of Hope” page where every donation is acknowledged visibly

- Option for live contact or virtual calls with the founder/team

Can I donate more than $1,000?

Absolutely. Many companies donate in tiers (e.g., $2,000 = 2 stars, $3,000 = 3 stars, etc.). Each tier comes with its own recognition badge and visibility on our Hall of Hope.

Do you accept in-kind support or services?

Yes. Some donors provide training, tools, job placement, or mentorships instead of or in addition to cash donations.

Is this tax-deductible?

As a Nigerian-based NGO, we are currently working on securing international nonprofit equivalency status to provide tax benefits to overseas donors. In the meantime, we provide detailed receipts and documentation for all donations.

Can we feature this partnership in our own CSR reports?

Yes. We provide media kits, photos (where possible), and a corporate donor toolkit to help you showcase your impact.

Can we choose the focus area our donation supports?

Yes. You can choose to direct your donation toward:

- Prison rehabilitation

- Support for single mothers

- Youth mentorship

Or allow us to use the funds where most urgently needed.

How soon after donating will we be recognized?

Within 72 hours, your star rating and badge will be added to our Hall of Hope and social media. You’ll also receive a digital badge for your website or CSR page.

Who do we contact if we have further questions?

Please email us at (info@givingsecondchances.org) or schedule a live call. We’re always happy to connect.
